Adira Finance’s Efforts to Activate People’s Market

DAPURPACU – The People’s Market Festival program has been held regularly by Adira Finance for more than three decades in Indonesia, in order to stimulate the informal sector.

This year, this event is being held again to motivate people’s market traders to grow sustainably, in line with Adira Finance’s spirit of #GrowingBersamaSahabat.

Niko Kurniawan Bonggowarsito, Director of Sales, Service and Distribution of Adira Finance, said that his party is committed to building long-term relationships with customers and partners to become more independent and able to develop well.

“And to support this, one of them is by holding the 2021 People’s Market Festival,” explained Niko, on the sidelines of the program launch, last Wednesday (1/12).

Based on data from the Indonesian Market Traders Association (IKAPPI), in 2021 around five million traders or 43% of the total said it was difficult to sell due to lack of buyers.

The People’s Market Festival 2021 aims to develop the people’s market to become a creative public space through a series of activities conducted in a hybrid manner.

These activities include workshops for business development for traders, introducing the Halal Shopping feature on the Titipku application, piloting Pasar Rakyat Corner at the Adira Finance branch office.

In addition, entertainment activities in the form of a Smart Contest at the market, and a ‘Local Friends in the People’s Market’ Photo Contest were also held which the whole community could participate in.

This activity took place in five markets, starting from Muara Karang Market, North Jakarta (1/12); Fresh Market Bintaro Market, South Tangerang (2/12); Sinpasa Modern Market, Bekasi (8/12); Grand Galaxy Market, Bekasi (16/12); and Sukatani Market, Cimanggis (21/12).

In this activity, Adira Finance collaborates with various parties such as the Titipku marketplace and RCTI+, which will last until January 2022. It is also supported by Adira Finance Syariah, Zurich Syariah and the Movement to Wear Masks (GPM).

In collaboration with Titipku, the Workshop for the Business Development of People’s Market Traders increases the understanding of traders through training and guidance so that their businesses can grow through the adaptation of digital technology.

This training includes how to build a business digitally, Islamic financial literacy, and the introduction of the Empowered Partnership (Keday) or AXI agents.

Titipku is a mobile application that aims to help MSMEs, especially people’s market traders, to meet customers digitally. Customers will get services from Jatiper (personal shopper) in buying their needs at the people’s market.

“Data on the Titipku application platform shows an increase in merchant turnover by 20-50% gradually, after they decide to sell via online applications,” explained Henri Suhardja, CEO of Titipku.

In the application, Adira Finance Syariah also introduces the Halal Shopping feature for customers who want to buy products according to sharia principles.

In addition to the workshop, there is a quiz competition that can be followed by people’s market traders, as an entertainment activity for traders in the people’s market.

The general public can also enliven the People’s Market Festival through the Local Friends Photography Competition, and capture various activities at the people’s market whose complete information can be found at

Adira Finance piloted Pasar Rakyat Corner at the South Jakarta 1 – Tebet Branch Office, Alam Sutera Branch Office, Cimanggis Branch Office and Bekasi 4 Branch Office – Harapan Indah.

Through Pasar Rakyat Corner, customers can shop at Pasar Rakyat when visiting Adira Finance branch offices.

“It is hoped that this event will be a motivation so that MSME actors, especially the people’s market ecosystem, can become digitally strong, independent, able to innovate, and can grow,” concluded Niko. [dp/MTH]
