Additional payments to conscripts – the lawyer explained the Council’s decision — UNIAN

Lawyer Andriy Novak commented on the decision of the Verkhovna Rada to increase the additional payment to conscripts.

As reported he is on the air of an information telethon, in this bill it is said that additional payments will be from two to six thousand for conscript soldiers, who are currently in conscript service for more than two years without rotation.

“The financial situation of conscript soldiers is better. And the financial support there is small. Our conscript service is one year. But considering that a war has started in our country, martial law has been declared, accordingly, there is no question of any law regarding the demobilization of conscripts. new conscript soldiers are not recruited, old ones are not released. Therefore, they are forced to be in military units at the disposal of conscripts,” the lawyer said.

He also noted that theoretically the army should provide conscripts with the necessary minimum for life.

Supplements to conscripts – what was reported

As UNIAN reported, 333 people’s deputies voted for the adoption of the draft law in the first reading from the parliamentary working group “On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding Certain Issues Related to Completion of Military Service During Martial Law” (registration number 9342).

The draft law stipulates that, during the period of martial law, military personnel will be paid an additional monthly remuneration from 30,000 to 100,000 hryvnias in proportion to the time of performing combat (special) tasks in the manner, amounts and conditions established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. In addition, it is suggested that conscripts be paid an additional monthly bonus of 6,000 hryvnias.
