Accurate 3D measurements directly in the production environment

Cre­a­form veletrhu will be introduced GIFA (12-16 June, Hall 13, Stand B28) of its portable 3D scanners. Scanners are used in the casting industry, especially in product development and quality assurance. Visitors will also be able to learn more about automated 3D scanning solutions. When machining semi-finished cast and forged parts, the casting industry faces many challenges to ensure that the parts meet customer requirements.

To ensure the highest quality, parts must be subjected to regular tests and inspections.

With optical portable or automated 3D metrology solutions, foundries and casting manufacturers get a fast, portable, accurate and versatile instrument for measuring, testing and verifying castings during repetitive product development processes, as well as quality control and maintenance. In addition, thanks to the color map function, they can quickly identify discrepancies between the casting and its CAD file. Measurement and analysis software displays results clearly and intuitively, making analysis easier. Unlike touch testing, 3D scanning displays an overall view of the inspected part and measures surface profiles, not just individual points.

Automated quality control solutions
