aboard the 7-seater SUV concept!

The Czech manufacturer has unveiled a new 100% electric SUV concept. Called Škoda Vision 7S, it foreshadows the future of the brand in terms of style!

Pour Škodait’s time for renewal, as well stylistic what technological. And to set an example, the Czech brand has unveiled a concept that illustrates this new “vision” of the future…

So here comes the Škoda Vision 7S! And this concept, a grand SUV familialis aptly named.

As explained above, the word « Vision » has all its legitimacy here. Why ? Because it is this model that foreshadows the future stylistic identity of the brand. And the ” 7S ” so ? Quite simply for “7 seats”, or 7 places in French.

An imposing size and 7 real seats

With this concept, the first thing that challenges is undoubtedly the size. And for good reason, the firm of Mladá Boleslav signs a vehicle with dimensions XXL. The model is over 5,16 meters long, for 1,94 meters wide and 1,88 meters in height. Impasto is 3.05 meters.

And if this concept is very large, it is because it needs space to accommodate the 7 occupants of the vehicle ! No doubt, it is therefore a family SUV with plenty of space on board.

For comparison, a Kodiaq 7 places with much smaller dimensions: 4.70 mx 1.88 mx 1.66 m.

The new logo on the hood

In terms of style, Škoda wanted to show something entirely new with this concept.

Like this rather original front face. On the upper part, there is a large capot horizontal very flat as well as a dark plastic grille completely closed. Named “Tech-Deck”this actually hides all the sensors of the vehicle.

Just above, we find the new brand logo. It is soberly written ” SKODA ” fully spelled out. This is also what we will see on all future vehicles from the manufacturer.

The optical are also of a new kind, since they extend through a light strip over the entire width of the front end into the fenders of the vehicle. They form a “T” with two large square LEDs on each side.

Finally, at the level of the lower part, we notice a very massive bumper which has seven vertical air inlets. The middle one with a orange colored insertwhich can be removed to tow the vehicle.

These elements are also found at the rear, with the same “T” headlights as well as the same bumper with 7 dummy entries this time.

A concept that maximizes aerodynamics

For questions of autonomy, electric requires, this large SUV tries somehow to make efforts at the aerodynamic level. And Škoda has thought of everything to reduce the cx as much as possible.

To this end, we note for example the presence of this full grille, of the super thin mirrors with an integrated camera, or the use of specific rims 22 inches. These are full with specific patterns that improve airflow while riding.

The roofline also slopes very slightly towards the rear and ends with a spoiler hollowed out in its center. Useful for lightening the silhouette of the vehicle, it also helps to improve the drag coefficient of the SUV.

A futuristic interior with two specific modes

Once entered in the vehicle by a system of antagonistic doors, we can finally take a seat on board this spacious concept.

For this Vision 7S, the designers have thought of two different configurations. We find a drive mode and a relaxation mode “Relax”.

At the wheel, the driver can read all the necessary information on the small screen of 8.8 inches located in front of him. In the center there is a second 14.6-inch screen, which can tilt to a horizontal position.

Precisely, at the press of a small button it is this second relaxation mode that engages. The on-board controls move away, the pedals retract, the seats pivot slightly towards the screen and the latter turns into landscape. We imagine that the latter will be very practical during break sessions or recharging the vehicle!

Nearly 600 km of autonomy

Based on SEM modular platform used by all the group’s electric vehicles Volkswagen, the Czech concept was designed with a 89 kWh battery.

This offers a maximum autonomy of more than 600 kilometers according to cycle WLTP and will even support very fast charging up to 200 kW.

As you will have understood, this 100% electric SUV will undoubtedly prefigure the arrival of a future family model in the range of the Czech manufacturer. We can imagine it logically replacing the current Kodiaq in its 7-seater version, for example.

See you in 2025 to see the model on sale!
