A total of 37 local governments received contracts for solar panels

Contracts on co-financing the program for the installation of solar panels have been signed today (05.11.2021) between representatives Ministry of Mining and Energy and 37 local governments, and the value of the project is about 390 million dinars. The contracts were handed over by the Minister of Mining and Energy, Zorana Mihajlović, who stated that she was The state, by co-financing projects for the replacement of carpentry and the installation of solar panels, initiated the largest process that will last in our country for the next few years, and that is the process of a healthier, more sustainable and green Serbia.

– It does not only mean a green Serbia and a green transition in the field of energy, but it means a complete change of everything we will do, the way we will produce and function in the coming decades – Mihajlovic told reporters after handing over the contract.

She pointed out that 37 local governments made an effort and created the conditions to appear in the competition that it announced Ministry of Mining and Energy to subsidize the installation of solar panels.

– These local governments have shown a clear awareness that we have to change some things when it comes to energy, when it comes to consuming heat and electricity and that there is no reason at all that Serbia, which as a country has a huge number of sunny days, does not find he does not have the conditions to use it in that way to help his citizens to install solar panels on their houses – said Mihajlović.

She stated that the project of replacing the plumbing and the project of installing solar panels are the result of joint work of the Ministry and local self-governments, and announced that next year there will be even more such public calls and that every household in our country will have the opportunity to replace carpentry or install a solar panel.

The goal of the energy rehabilitation program for houses – installation of solar panels is to improve energy efficiency and increase the use of renewable energy sources in households.

Up to 50% of investments for the installation of solar panels are provided by the state and local governments, and 50% by the citizens themselves as customers.

37 cities and municipalities received funds from the public call, and the total value of the program is around 390 million dinars. Of that, 25% is financed by local self-governments, 25% by the Ministry of Mining and Energy and 50% by citizens.
