A sharp fight until the end. Michalovce beat Košice and on Wednesday they can even the series – Extraliga – Hockey

The hockey players of HK Dukla Ingem Michalovce won the third semi-final match of the Tipos extraliga playoff over HC Košice 3:2. They reduced the four-game winning streak to 1:2. The fourth duel is scheduled for Wednesday again in Michalovci.

There were no changes in the lineup of Košice after the second match. Coach Michaloviec kept the composition of the defensive pairs, but there were changes in all four formations.

Forwards Peter Bjalončík and Roman Žitný returned to the lineup, defender Jakub Cibák alternated on the wing of the third formation. Filip Vašaš and Radovan Puliš did not appear in the lineup.

The home team took the lead in the 13th minute when Bjalončík scored from close range, and after Hammond’s goal in a weakened position, they led 2:0 from the 28th minute. Košice reduced the score to 1:2 thanks to Jääskeläinen, but Žitný restored the home team’s two-goal advantage in a power play.

Shortly after that, Lamper deflected Breton’s shot and reduced the score to 3:2, but the visitors could not equalize. Not even Pollock was able to do it, who did not score from a free kick in the 59th minute.
