Linux Mint 20.2 Uma is here, also in the form of an update!
The developers of this popular Linux distribution have released a new version of the alternative operating system Mint 20.2 Uma. Compared to the previous version 20.1, the news is smaller, so the update should take place without major problems, which was also my case. If you happen to be hesitant about upgrading, you can back up your system using Timeshift, which will allow you to revert to the original version of your system. It is also recommended that you make the necessary updates and turn off the screen saver before upgrading the system.
Although not required, the creators also recommend booting the system using usrmerge, which you do with the command: apt install usrmerge. Finally, all you have to do is click on Edit in the Update Manager and select “Update to Linux Mint 20.2 Uma”. Then you just wait for the end of the update process, restart your computer and have a fully updated system. Of course, if you prefer a clean installation, you can also download the new version of the system from the distribution website. There, as always, you can choose from three versions of the system environment: Cinnamon, Mate and Xfce. Then you just upload it to a USB key using programs designed for it, such as Unetbootin.
