A large asteroid will approach Earth on March 27

7335 (1989 JA), a large asteroid about 1.8 km in diameter, is expected to pass close to Earth on May 27thwithout, however, posing security issues for our planet.

This body was discovered in 1989 and is one of the 2,265 space rocks that the US Space Agency (NASA) considers “potentially dangerous asteroids”. The asteroid will make its closest transit from Earth at the end of May since it was discovered, and will not come so close again, at least until 2914.

The asteroid is about to travel at least ten times (4 million kilometers) from the Moon to Earth. Its passage will be a good opportunity for observation by astronomers, professionals and amateurs. It will be best located in the southern sky near the constellation of Hydra.

It is noted that it is one of the largest asteroids ever detected approaching our planet, more than twice the size of the tallest building in the world.
