AliExpress Russia begins testing the pick-up-in-store function for Russian site sellers. By choosing an option, the buyer can quickly check the status of the order and receive the purchase in the seller’s convenient store a few hours after the order. The press service of the company reports.
A few hours after ordering: AliExpress Russia launched express delivery of goodsEkaterina Kochkina
Issuance of an order and delivery to the store are free for the buyer.
The “pick up at the store” delivery option is reflected in the product card and in the user’s basket, if such an option is provided by the store. For pickup, the store closest to the address specified by the buyer is automatically assigned. If necessary, you can go to the map and select a store at a different address.
The seller indicates the period of time for which he will provide the goods. In this case, the purchase can be picked up within a few hours or choose a suitable time. When the package arrives at the selected store, the buyer will receive an in-app notification.
In addition, customers will be able to check and return an unsuitable item directly in the store by issuing a simplified return via the AliExpress app.
The first testing partners were home goods chains and fashion retailers, including 220 Volt and Finn Flare. In their stores, the pick-up option is already available.
The new service will be available for API connection to all Russian sellers. Companies that connect to the new option will be able to upload a list of their stores for mapping, select delivery regions for self-pickup, and indicate the time for which they will bring the goods to the store.
“For sellers, this will reduce the cost of moving goods, returning and the speed of putting returned goods into circulation,” said Sergey Grechin, commercial director for special categories at AliExpress Russia.
The function is built on the platform of the IT operator Qingyao, a member of the Alibaba Group. It is noted that express delivery has become one of the first services within the framework of the operator’s localization in Russia. The company plans to invest more than 1 billion rubles in it over the next year.
According to Vyacheslav Savin, General Director of Tsainyao in Russia, this is the first such experience for Russian marketplaces. At the same time, the share of such orders in the total volume of online orders from retailers may exceed 50%, Savin noted.
In December last year, AliExpress Russia and Qainyao launched fixed shipping rates for Russian sellers.
