Aston Martin has appointed Amedeo Felisa as its new director, who will replace Tobias Mers, the company’s leader for the previous two years, as of July 1. Prior to joining Aston Martin, Mers worked for Mercedes-Benz, including the AMG division.

Felisa is a veteran of the automotive industry who spent 26 years at Ferrari, where he was a director from 2008 to 2016. He left Ferrari when the company went public and has since worked as a consultant at many companies, including Aston Martin and Silk-FAW, which deals with supermodels.

Felisa is not the only former Ferrari official to join Aston Martin. The company announced that Robero Fedeli will take over the function of the chief technical official from June 1. Like Felice and Fedeli, he spent 26 years in an Italian company, working for BMW and Fiat for short periods, and more recently for Silk-FAW.

In February, Aston Martin hired the former head of Ferrari’s F1 team, Marko Matijaći.

The British company announced that it will present additional appointments in its management in the coming weeks. Aston Martin did not say why Mers is leaving, but it was said that the decision was mutual.
