A faithful dog waited for its owner in front of a hospital in Turkey for almost a week, until he came out after being treated for a brain condition.
The small puppy, named Boncuk, was rewarded for his loyalty with an emotional reunion when 68-year-old Cemal Senturk was finally released from the hospital in Trabzon.
Senturk was taken to hospital on January 14 after a stroke, according to Reuters.
Boncuk, whose name means “beads”, went after the ambulance and started his vigil in front of the hospital immediately, then returning every morning. Occasionally, the puppy was fed by hospital staff.
“It simply came to our notice then. Everyone saw the relationship between the dog and its owner. It makes everyone happy “, said the communication director of the hospital, Fuat Ugur.
The sick man’s daughter tried to take the puppy home several times, but kept running to return to the hospital.
When Senturk was finally released from the hospital this week, Boncuk ran happily to the wheelchair, jumping at his master to be comforted.
