A chance for young performers – over 40 performances at more than 20 festivals in 6 countries in the region – SERBIA CREATES: The Spotlight

Bands, disc jockeys and all musicians from the directions defined by the competition (pop, rock, jazz, hip hop and popular urban music, electronic music) can apply from today through the application on the website serbiacreates.rs. The contest will last until midnight on June 4, when it is the last day to fill out the application, and only young musicians who are citizens of the Republic of Serbia have the right to participate. The eminent jury, with as many as 19 members, consists of recognized actors of the music and festival industry, among them Dragan Ambrozić, Konstrakta, MC Sajsi, Milena Milutinović (Repetitor), Vladan Rajović (KKN), DJ Space Motion, Vojislav Pantić, Dejan Ilić (Eyot), DJ Dejan Milićević, Relja Milanković (Bassivity), Nikola Jovanović (Universal & Virgin Music ), Timbe (Bad Copy), DJ Lag, Zdravko Vulin (EXIT), Milovan Bošković (Zemlja Gruva), Marko Radojković (Umbrella & Hali Gali), Milica Ševarlić (DOB), but also media representatives: Radio Belgrade 1, jazzin.rs, onlyclubbing.com and balkanrock.com. Each of them in their segment will present a final selection of a maximum of 5 candidates for each genre, no later than June 15, and the right to choose the musicians who will perform at the festivals is reserved by the program selections of the festival. The implementation of the competition is planned until the end of 2023.

By including all factors of the music industry and recruiting young talents in an action like this, we give enormous support to young people, but also to the overall domestic scene and music creativity. Tepić points out that the long-term goal of the competition is to simultaneously find new young names of the domestic music scene who, in cooperation with the platform and all the aforementioned actors, will present themselves on the international market in the coming years.
