A 5-year-old girl collected more than 35 thousand hryvnias for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — UNIAN

The girl performed Ukrainian songs in the center of Lviv for 9 hours and 54 minutes to the musical accompaniment of her older brother.

The National Register of Records of Ukraine recognized 5-year-old Maria Makeeva from Kryvyi Rih as the youngest volunteer, who collected UAH 35,492 for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with her performance.

“It is impossible to defeat a country where even the smallest children come close to victory. The National Register of Records recognized 5-year-old Maria Makeeva from Kryvyi Rih as the youngest volunteer, who collected UAH 35,492 for the needs of the Armed Forces with her performance,” she said.

According to Vetrova, the girl performed Ukrainian songs in the center of Lviv, where she and her mother temporarily moved during the war, to the musical accompaniment of her older brother Oleksandr, who is also a Ukrainian record holder in another category.

“The performance of the little record holder lasted 9 hours and 54 minutes. At first, the children dreamed of raising funds for a bulletproof vest, but as the parents found out, at that moment thermal imaging sights were very much needed on the front lines. So, with the help of the volunteer fund, which added a certain amount to the children’s funds amount, an INFIRAY СL35 M thermal imager was purchased and handed over to our soldiers on the front line,” the head of the registry noted.

Vetrova clarified that the youngest volunteer in Ukraine and her brother plan to perform and collect funds for the needs of the Armed Forces.

“Children have one dream: to end the war as soon as possible,” she added.
