Mentioning that steps are being taken to develop Maheshkhali on the model of Singapore, the head of government said that a deep sea port is being built at Matarbari in Maheshkhali, Ecopark will be constructed at Sonadia, 6 special economic zones will be developed in Cox’s Bazar including Teknaf, Sabrong. Domestic and foreign investment will come.

He said, we have created the opportunity for our boys and girls, youth society, young society to stand on their own feet and work. He also mentioned that his government is taking steps to send the Rohingyas back to their country as soon as possible. The Prime Minister said that the Rohingyas from Myanmar have taken shelter here. I thank the people of Cox’s Bazar for sheltering them. But our efforts are taking measures as soon as they can go to their own country. And we constructed another place in Bhasanchar and arranged for them to be resettled there. Some countries want to take them home. We are also creating his opportunity.

The Prime Minister said, you know this Cox’s Bazar where salt farmers once suffered a lot. We held a conference of salt farmers and shrimp farmers in that Badarkhali when we were in the opposition party. After coming to power, he took measures for the overall improvement of the salt farmers and took steps to enable the salt farmers to adopt more modern methods of salt cultivation. We will also take measures to meet the needs of our country and export abroad.
