Kuala Lumpur: The spread of Covid-19 in the country recorded 2,985 cases today with four new deaths recorded.
Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, it increased the total number of positive Covid-19 cases in Malaysia to 144,518 cases with a contagion of 32,377 cases.
He said the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) also recorded the number of Covid-19 cured cases of 994 cases making the cumulative number of cases recovered was 111,578 cases.
“Of the total new cases, there are two cases of imports receiving infection from abroad while the domestic transmission is 2,983 cases.
“Selangor reported the highest new daily cases of 837 cases (28 percent). This was followed by Johor with 535 cases and Sabah with 450 cases,” he told a press conference today.
He also informed that there was an increase of four deaths today, bringing the cumulative number of deaths to 563 cases or 0.41 percent.
“To date, there have been 197 Covid-19 positive cases treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with 53 cases requiring respiratory assistance.
“MOH also detected 11 new clusters today, namely Taman Integrasi Cluster, Jalan Ijuk Cluster, Jalan Rami Cluster, Kota Cluster, Tanjung Megah Cluster, Jalan Kasturi Cluster, Thamby Cluster Cluster, Taman Batik Cluster, Bukit Bakar Cluster, Kampung Tengah Cluster and Cluster Dialysis Malim, “he said.
