Twenty-three young women have been rescued while being trafficked to various countries in the Middle East and India. Meanwhile, RAB arrested 11 people, including one of the ringleaders of the smuggling ring.

According to RAB, 23 women who were being trafficked abroad have been rescued by conducting raids in Mirpur, Uttara and Tejgaon areas of the capital since Friday evening. They were being trafficked to various countries in India and the Middle East. Eleven traffickers, including one of the ringleaders, have been arrested. Initially, the names of those arrested were not disclosed.
The operation was going on till the writing of the report at night, RAB said.
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of the RAB’s law and media branch, said the operation was still ongoing. Details will be announced at a press conference at the RAB Media Center tomorrow (Saturday).
