159 thousand cars were exported in Bursa

In Bursa, which is home to automobile giants OYAK Renault and TOFAŞ, 959 automobiles were produced daily in three quarters of the year, with an average of 592 (61.74 percent) exported.

According to the information compiled by the AA correspondent from the Automotive Industry Association (OSD) data, 962 thousand 829 vehicles, including tractors, of which 571 thousand 108 were automobiles, were produced in Turkey in the three quarters of the year.

OYAK Renault, operating in Bursa, had the highest production volume of 168 thousand 22 cars per unit. OYAK Renault’s share in total automobile production was recorded as 29.4 percent.

Operating in Sakarya, Toyota ranked second by manufacturing 160 thousand 592 cars in a 9-month period. In the same period, Hyundai Assan reached 126 thousand 695, TOFAŞ 90 thousand 995, Honda Turkey 21 thousand 733 and Ford Otosan 3 thousand 71 units.

While the number of automobiles produced in Bursa in the January-September period was 259 thousand 17, 45.35 of the overall automobile production was carried out in the automotive capital.

In the 9 months of the year, 401 thousand 437s, which corresponds to 70.29 percent of the general automobile production, were exported, providing a foreign exchange inflow of 6.6 billion dollars.


Toyota, which ranks second in production, ranks first in exports with 128 thousand 191 units. OYAK Renault exported 124 thousand 981, Hyundai Assan 109 thousand 237, TOFAŞ 34 thousand 939, Honda Turkey 2 thousand 280 and Ford Otosan thousand 809 automobiles.

The exports made by OYAK Renault and TOFAŞ from Bursa, which made a significant contribution to foreign sales in the January-September period with 159,920 automobiles, constituted 39.83 percent of Turkey’s total automobile exports.

61.74 percent of 259 thousand 17 cars produced in Bursa in a 9-month period were sent abroad. The number of vehicles unloaded daily in the city was 959 and the number of daily exports was 592.
