State Minister for Information and Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said that 13 crore people of the country are getting internet services. The beneficiaries have been able to make great changes in their daily life with this service. The state minister said these things while addressing the chief guest at the grant check distribution ceremony among smart women entrepreneurs in coastal district Pirojpur today.
Pirojpur District Administration Shaheed Abdur Razzak-Saif Mizan Memorial Auditorium under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahedur Rahman spoke at the check distribution ceremony, Pirojpur Police Superintendent Mohammad Saidur Rahman, Zilla Parishad Chairman Salma Rahman Happy, Sadar Upazila Chairman Md. Mujibur Rahman Khalek, District Awami League Acting General Secretary Advocate Kanai Lal Biswas, Vermicompost Small Project Entrepreneur Rina Rani Dutta, and Shahnaz Parveen Shanu.
The state minister said that Sheikh Kamal IT Training Center and Incubation Center and Joy D-SET Center will be established in Pirojpur at a cost of Tk 140 crore. For this purpose, a site has been identified in Jhatkathi area of Pirojpur-Nazirpur bypass road in Pirojpur suburb and the construction work is going to start soon.
He also said that more than 5 thousand Sheikh Russell digital labs have been established across the country, including 15 outside the country. People have called the national helpline number 333 about 10 crore times and have availed various information and services.
He said that Bangladesh has made great progress in the international cyber security index. During the Corona period, the judicial system has been conducted by launching the virtual court. About one and a half thousand government services are being converted into digital services, benefiting crores of people.
The state minister said that no woman had the right to sit on the judge’s seat during Pakistan. Bangabandhu guaranteed that right in the constitution and during the 4 terms of his daughter Sheikh Hasina’s government, hundreds of women judges got the chance to sit on its seat.
He also said that in the construction of ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041, we have to make women as smart citizens. Prime Minister’s ICT Advisor Sajib Wazed Joy is working tirelessly for that purpose.
