Ford’s brand new and 100% electric E-Tourneo Courier has just been presented by Ford’s American CEO, Jim Farley, in the Bella Center in Copenhagen.
The unveiling of Ford’s next electric car takes place as part of Ford’s major European event ‘Bring On Tomorrow Live’, where several thousand guests will participate in the event over the coming weeks.
Ford has just unveiled the next electric model in the Ford Tourneo family with the electric E-Tourneo Courier, which will be available in Europe in 2024. The spacious five-seat family car was shown for the first time to a live audience at the Bella Center today, when the electric car rolled onto the stage in front of a well-appointed audience consisting of, among others, Ford dealers from all over Europe.
The new E-Tourneo Courier not only has plenty of room for the car’s passengers and luggage, but it also offers a wealth of digital features that make everyday life easier for you. For example, in the form of automatic OTA updates (over the air), where you can easily and simply plan for your car to be updated during the night, for example – without you having to lift a finger.
– Our future in Ford Europe is exciting with new models like the E-Tourneo Courier, which are electric, fun and driven by a great desire for adventure. Our new E-Tourneo Courier is our latest example of our global ambition and billion dollar investment to scale our production of electric cars and ‘must have’ cars for our customers,” said Jim Farley, Ford President and CEO.
It’s about holding on tight if you want to keep up with Ford’s electrification. The news of the electric E-Tourneo Courier comes in the wake of Ford last year sharing the news of the launch of the full nine electric cars before the end of 2024.
New electric experience
The E-Tourneo Courier has a 100 kW / 136 hp electric motor that gives you an uncompromising driving experience, while advanced driver assistance systems make your daily driving even more enjoyable.
It is both possible to charge the car via an 11 kW AC charger at home, where a charge from 0-100 percent will take up to 5.7 hours. It is of course also possible to charge the car with DC fast chargers with up to 100 kW. Here, for example, you can reach a range of 87 km in just 10 minutes or charge from 10-80% in less than 35 minutes.
Designed for adventure
The practical E-Tourneo Courier has been designed with a view to creating a spacious and robust car that is still easy to drive – without appearing clumsy. The car comes in a clean design with futuristic elements that are reflected, among other things, in the “coast-to-coast” light beam, which helps to define the characteristic new Ford BEV front grill.
– We designed the E-Tourneo Courier with a ‘no-nonsense’ attitude. Regardless of whether the car is to be used for family adventures and filled with luggage or whether the seats need to be folded down to accommodate various purchases from a hardware store, the car meets your needs.
– The SUV-inspired design is robust on the outside and spacious on the inside, while the modern details give the car an exclusive look that at the same time emphasizes that the E-Tourneo Courier is part of Ford’s electric revolution, says Amko Leenarts, design director, Ford Europe.
The electric E-Tourneo Courier has room for five adults and more than 44 percent more trunk space than the discontinued Tourneo Courier. The passengers in the back seat will be able to benefit, among other things, from the improved shoulder space and cabin height. The car’s practical features include storage options in the form of a configurable center console in the cabin and the possibility of storage in the car’s trunk, which holds up to 44 litres.
The car has a digital instrument panel and a 12″ touchscreen with Ford’s SYNC 4 system. The infotainment system is wirelessly compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Automatic OTA (over the air) updates help keep your car up-to-date without you having to visit a dealer every time.
The E-Tourneo Courier will be available in a selection of stylish variants – including the characteristic Active series with, among other things, a roof in a contrasting color to the rest of the car, roof rails and wheel arches in a robust design.
The E-Tourneo Courier will be produced in Craiova, Romania, expected from the second half of 2024. Here it will be produced together with the Ford Puma, which will be available in an electric variant from next year.
