Galaxy ecosystem connects with houses and cars

On this day, in Unpack, Samsung Electronics presented the Galaxy ecosystem that leads to cars and houses. The Galaxy S21 Ultra model can be linked with SmartThings and the vehicle service’Android Auto’ to directly control the devices in the house from the car screen. On the way home from the car, all you have to do is control the temperature of the house with Google Nest and set the Samsung robot vacuum cleaner to move automatically. Jeong Hae-yoon, GDC Center Pro, introduced, “You can use your favorite apps in Galaxy, such as navigation and music on the display in the vehicle, and you can connect with SmartThings to control home appliances in your home.”

When he approached the car with the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the car door automatically opened. It is a’digital key’ function using ultra-wideband technology. The smartphone and the car exchanged signals and calculated the distance and opened the car door. The Galaxy S21+ and Ultra models are equipped with ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to enable communication between devices, and extends to digital key services as well as file sharing and object location verification. Samsung Electronics plans to share technology with car connectivity and expand digital key services in collaboration with manufacturers BMW, Ford, and Genesis. There are no chargers and earphones in the Galaxy S21 package. Only USB-C type cables are provided.
